Moving Tips
Be prepared, make storage easier on yourself.
Here are a few helpful tips to keep you on top.
MAKE A LIST
If you know what you have in storage, there will be no panicking and frantic driving around to get something last minute. Make a list of what goes into storage and update it when you add or remove things, even just temporarily.
SAY GOODBYE TO UNUSED STUFF
Make the most of your storage unit. For lots of small things, use shelves to elevate them and make use of the vertical space. Decluttering your home can also declutter your life, and you'll feel more at ease when everything has a place.
GET STURDY, UNIFORM PACKING SUPPLIES
Don't let boxes break when you're moving. Use sturdy boxes and a seal of packing tape. In case of excessive snow melt or constant moving in and out of storage, watertight plastic bins will remain robust and keep their contents safe.
Know How to Properly Store Items
Do a little research on how to efficiently store your belongings. For electronics or batteries, store them at half charge and check on the battery twice a year to extend battery life. For things like vinyls, storing them on their sides can compress them and damage the grooves, rendering them unplayable.Stay in the know and avoid future grief.
NO FLAMMABLE ITEMS ALLOWED.
